Thank You For Serving

13 For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.”

1Thessalonians 2:13

In writing to the church in Thessalonica Paul recognized the faithful response that many in that church had exhibited. I want to thank everyone in this church family who, like those in Thessalonica many years ago, have faithfully responded to God’s leading. Last Sunday was a wonderful example as so many served, invited friends, welcomed visitors and much more. It is very encouraging to me to see God’s love expressed in such practical and effective ways.
As we venture into springtime and therefore begin the challenge of balancing schedules and preparing for new opportunities, it is my prayer that we keep our eyes upon the things that are important to God. Amy Carmichael, missionary to India, said it this way, “Love to live and live to Love”. Springtime represents new life, fresh hope, and even a new beginning to our daily routines and responsibilities. Springtime can also be a time of over-commitment, strained relationships and even spiritual weakness due to lack of personal discipline.
With that in mind I am asking you to meditate upon and apply Colossians 4:2,3a for your own lives, for church leadership and for His direction in this season. Thank you again for your faithful service to Jesus, to Him be the glory both now and forever!

“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; 3meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ…”
Colossians 4:2,3a
In His Love,
Pastor Dan
