Pastors Request for prayer- January 26, 2012
“Now therefore, go, and
I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.”
Exodus 4:12 The first 4 chapters of Exodus reveal
an amazing dialog between Moses and God. Chapter 1 laying the
background, chapter 2 introducing Moses. In chapter 3 we have
Moses receiving instruction from God which leads to Moses
reasoning with God. Moses seems to have a common condition we
all face at times; impaired vision. Even though he has had an
amazing encounter with God, chapter 3, Moses can only see what
he is familiar with. He looks at himself in regards to
experience, ability, emotion, reputation… all these things
with the focus on himself rather than on the God of all
creation. Moses was in need of a new view, a vantage point
from which to look at life. Taking care of the flocks for his
father in law, doing the ‘daily work’, Moses encountered God
and his life was forever changed. It wasn’t easy, it required
a whole new outlook on every part of life and it is the same
for you and I. We can’t stay the same and be conformed into
His image, it is impossible. Maturity requires challenges,
difficulties, trials in order that we may see Him more
clearly. (James 1:2-4, John 16:33) I am encouraged by the example of
Moses’, especially chapter 4. God patiently, yet perfectly,
calls Moses out from his comfort zone and into a life of
obedience. Reluctantly, imperfectly, Moses responds to God’s
call on his life and he experiences a life that was greater
than he ever would have thought possible! As God prompts,
stirs, awakens you to this season I encourage you to respond
to Him and look to Him.
“Therefore we also,
since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let
us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily
ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of
our faith, who
for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the
throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:1-2 Thank you once again for your prayers! In His Grace,
