Foundations Study, Week 8

The disciple’s life is a joyful life!

As Jesus was preparing His disciples for the trials and victories they would face He spoke very clearly and practically; “

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me…As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.”

Foundations Study, Week 7

“Do you not know that those who run in a race but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become

Foundations Study, Week 6

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28

For generations man has been able to find issues to divide over.  In the first family Adam and Eve, in their pride, chose to do things their own way and depart from God’s perfect plan.  Their boys, Cain and Able, inherited this inclination for division and it has been passed along to every one of us.

Foundations Study, Week 4 & 5

Foundations Study, Week 3

Tuesday morning during my time of prayer and reading I was captivated by a particular verse within the passage I was reading. The verse(s) were 2 Timothy 1:8b, 9 where Timothy is exhorted by Paul to “…share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, 9who saved us and called us with a holy calling,

Foundations Study, Week 2

Hello Everyone,
I hope that your study and prayer time is going well. If you find yourself struggling to build a pattern and approach to study I encourage you to keep at it. It takes effort to establish new habits and patterns but as you settle in and see progress you will be encouraged.

Foundations Study, Week 1

As you finish up the first week of this Foundation study I am sure you have noticed that it is very ‘light’ in regards to time commitment and study. My desire for the 8 weeks we will study is that we use the  handbook (Biblical Principles for a Strong Foundation by Craig Caster) as a jumpstart to digging in deeper.

During our recent study through the book of Nehemiah I came across this poem, “O Breath of Life”, originally written by Bessie Porter Head. As I read through it I sensed that this was a cry and request for the church here in Mountain Home. Presented to the worship team, they took the poem and arranged it to this song. As we work through the Foundations Series and prepare for our time of fasting and prayer (Feb 8-12) I ask that you listen to the song and make this your prayer. We will introduce the song on Sunday February 7th and look forward to what God will do in and through us in the days & weeks to come.
By His Grace,
Pastor Dan
