Pastor’s Request for Prayer February 2nd, 2012

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

As we set aside time last week to fast and pray I was greatly encouraged by God’s faithfulness and by everyone who joined together. I received several responses in regards to what God was showing individuals and each person was encouraged that God had met them where they were at on their journey with Him. It is my continuing prayer that He would awaken us even more to the power and privilege of prayer, which He has provided to us. The mind cannot grasp the magnitude of His provision; that God would come as a man, suffer, conquer sin, rise in glory and then provide a way that we may come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).

Personally, what I think is amazing is that I spend so little time sitting at His feet, praising Him and listening to His instruction. When I consider how He has changed my life it draws me even closer to Him, desiring to know Him and His love even more. This last week has really revived my prayer life. The time spent was some of the best spent time of my life; it was challenging, convicting, cleansing, satisfying and difficult.  In my prayer time I was challenged, warned, blessed by Hebrews 3:12 which reads; “Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God”. It is startling to think I could depart from the Living God if I allow unbelief to grow within me. If we become insulated with our own opinion; controlled by comfort and convenience, consumed by what we want, captured by our own agenda then we give no room for faith to grow.

So in closing I encourage you to respond to what He is saying to you, what He is calling you to in obedience and love to Him. Secondly, it is my desire that we grow in regards to prayer. Every aspect of our lives needs prayer, that we would know and experience the Living God!  I will continue to send out emails occasionally in this regard and would love to hear from you concerning what He is doing.

Thank you!

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” Hebrews 11:6

In His Grace,
Pastor Dan
